Frobisher Bay

The Frobisher bay between the peninsulas Meta Incognita and Hall

The Frobisher Bay (English Frobisher Bay) is a bay that extends from the southeast about 420 km in the Baffin Island in Nunavut in the north- eastern Canada.

It is enclosed by the two peninsulas Meta Incognita ( in the west) and Hall ( in the east). In its interior, the coastal town of Iqaluit is located (formerly Frobisher Bay).

The bay opens toward the Labrador Sea. Near this opening there are locomotives Iceland, Iceland Edgell and Resolution Iceland.

The Frobisher Bay was discovered in 1576 by Martin Frobisher. This was then, however mistakenly, due to the Zeno Map assume to be located off the coast of Greenland.
