Geographical Location
Fröhnd is in the meadow valley in 500 to 1200 meters above sea level in the Black Forest Nature Park.
Neighboring communities
The municipality is bordered to the north by the town of Schönau im Schwarzwald, Wembach and Tunau, on the east by the district Präg - Herrenschwand the city Todtnau, to the south by Häg - Ehrsberg and the town of Zell in the meadow valley and to the west by the districts Elbenschwand and Bürchau the Small meadow valley community.

Within the area are the waste places Burstal, hunger mountain, fir and means wood.
History
Fröhnd is the association of nine hamlets and two detached houses. The name of the village has been derived from the ancient landscape designation Froehnde. Landlord "on the Froehnde " was the monastery of St. Blaise, who was in the jurisdiction. With the secularization of the monastery in 1806, it became part of the newly created Grand Duchy of Baden.

The municipality is a member of Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Schönau im Schwarzwald.

Educational institutions
In Fröhnd there is no kindergarten or school. Primary and community students attend schools in Schönau im Schwarzwald, there is also a gymnasium. The nearest secondary school is located in Zell in the meadow valley.
