Geography

Location

Fuldabrueck lies south-east to the south of the North Hessian city of Kassel. It is located on the northwest slope of the Söhre, lie on the part of the nature park Meissner Kaufunger forest. The Weser source Fulda River flows right past the hamlets Dennhausen / Dittershausen and Bergshausen.

Neighboring communities

Fuldabrueck is surrounded by five neighboring communities: Kassel in the north- west to the north ( mostly beyond the Fulda), Lochmaben in the northeast, Söhrewald in the east, the south and Guxhagen Baunatal in the west (beyond the Fulda).

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Bergshausen, Dennhausen / Dittershausen and Dörnhagen where the city hall is located.

History

Fuldabrueck arose from the voluntary association of municipalities Dennhausen and Dittershausen on 1 July 1967. The former community representatives selected as the new community name " Fuldabrueck ".

On August 1, 1972, the municipal reform in Hesse were within the communities Bergshausen and Dörnhagen affiliated with the community Fuldabrueck and thus formed the new large church " Fuldabrueck ". The community had in 1972 a total population of 5676 inhabitants.

Economy and infrastructure

The number of jobs increased in the past 20 years from 1500 to 3500.

In the triangle Fuldabrueck - Bergshausen, Kassel -Waldau and Lochmaben is the 80 -acre freight center ( LVN ) Kassel, whose centerpiece is a transshipment terminal of Deutsche Bahn AG with two zuglangen tracks and which is rented by the DB Intermodal. Of the total area of the cargo center of Kassel, more than two-thirds are located in the district area of the municipality Fuldabrueck.

Traffic

Fuldabrueck is on the Federal Highway 7 and on the leading of the Fulda valley bridge Bergshausen Federal Highway 44, where these highways southeast of Kassel collide, and only a little to the east of Federal Highway 49, the community can take the A -7 connection points Guxhagen and Kassel, but be achieved, which leads directly to the district Bergshausen past and by Dörnhagen; beyond the national road 3460 (Kassel - Bergshausen - Dörnhagen earlier national road 83).

The high-speed line Hannover -Würzburg leads, among other things, the Fulda valley bridge Fuldabrueck, by the municipality; the nearest stop on this route is the train station Kassel- Wilhelm height.

Through the municipal area following cycle paths lead: The Fulda Cycle Route ( Hessischer Radfernweg R1) runs to 260 km in length from the heights of Rhön along the Fulda to Bad Karl port on the river Weser. The D- Route 9 (Weser - Romantic Road ) leads up to 1197 km length of the North Sea by Bremen, Kassel, Fulda and the Tauber Valley to Füssen in the Allgäu.

The lying to the west of the municipality Fuldabrueck district Good Freienhagen was arrested on a painting by Johann Heinrich Tischbein the Elder. The 1766 created image represents a May Day celebration of the Landgrave of Hesse -Kassel is ( May Day at Good Freienhagen ). In the background the Fulda and the Church of Bergshausen can be seen.
