Full Members Cup

The Full Members Cup was an English football cup competition, which was played between 1985 and 1992. He was discharged between 1987 and 1989 under the name of the official sponsor Simod Cup. In recent years, between 1989 and 1992, the name changed in ZDS Cup (ZDS means Zenith Data Systems ).

The competition was launched as a direct result of the disaster at Heysel Stadium from 29 May 1985 to life when the English clubs were banned from all European club competitions for 5 years ( Liverpool even for 7 years). Was playing this competition in the knockout system for the clubs in the top two English divisions. The Full Members Cup was particularly appreciated neither by the clubs or by the players and suffered a minor role. He was then adjusted after 7 seasons. A similar competition for teams who would have qualified nationally in the period of Ineligibility for a European competition was the English Super Cup. It was introduced parallel to the Full Members Cup, but already abolished after just one season.
