Fulton Fish Market

The Fulton Fish Market is the largest fish market in the United States and the largest in the world after Tokyo.

The market was opened in New York City in 1822. On the Fulton Fish Market, fishing has been delivered over the East River, in order to find its buyer. The fish are, however, long gone spent by sea to the market, but delivered by refrigerated trucks. Today, the Fulton Fish Market, in addition to its economic importance also a meaning as a tourist attraction in New York. Since 2005, the Fulton Fish Market is no longer at the South Street Seaport, but at Hunts Point ( Bronx ).
