Career

The trio was founded in 1992 and is known for its unique loose and casual blues sound, the classic R & B and rap combined.

The trio released his first album, whose title is the same name with the band, 1994 Okeh / Epic Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music. Through the single " Cold Beverage", which was often aired on MTV, the album received almost gold. This success took advantage of the band and began a far-reaching tour.

In 1995 they released their second album, " Coast to Coast Motel ". Although it did not sell as good as the first album, many critics felt it was the better of the two albums released.

On the tour that followed, the band split because of a dispute about money almost. But the band then decided to take a break and the three members went their own ways. They worked on different projects.

In October 1997, the band had reconciled and released the third album called Yeah, It 's That Easy, which showed its own projects of the members during the break. Also, were on the album for the first time collaborations with other artists and bands to listen to (eg All Fellas band, Philly Cartel, King's Court, and Dr. John ).

Shortly after the band from touring in 1999 returned to Philadelphia, she released her fourth album, " Philadelphonic ". 2001 was followed by Electric Mile, an album which showed the far-reaching influence of hip- hop, funk and blues and soul in equal measure. There was, as always, an extensive tour.

2004 was " The Hustle ". This album loosened on the style of G. Love and Special Sauce. It pointed to a significant change to the previous works. " The Hustle " was also the first album, which was released under Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records label. These are good friends since Philadelphonic where Jack Johnson had a guest appearance.

G. Love and Special Sauce toured in 2004 with Jack Johnson and Donavon Frankenreiter. The trio recorded a live EP.

In summer 2005, the band appeared in a Coca -Cola commercial with their own version of the Coca -Cola advertising song I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.
