G6 (EU)

The G6 in the European Union is an unofficial merger of the six most populous EU countries: Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Poland and Spain. The Group aims especially in security matters to a close cooperation.

By the admission of Poland, the G5 advanced to today's G6. Not to be confused is the G6 with the "Group of Six ", a forerunner of today's " Group of Eight "
