Ga-Rei

Ga - Rei - Monster in chains (Japanese喰 霊, Garei, dt " Spirit-eater " ) is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Hajime Segawa, which appeared from 2005 to 2010 in Japan. The work is classified in the genres of action, comedy, mystery and shōnen and was implemented as an anime television series.

Content

The high school student Kensuke Nimura (弐 村 剣 辅) has the ability to see ghosts and demons. While this is often more of a hindrance, but Kensuke has got used to it over time. Now, however, he meets the girl Tsuchimiya Kagura (土 宫 神 楽), who has just such abilities as he fights and as a Special Agent with demons and ghosts. During their missions Kagura is supported by Ga - Rei, a Inugami, she keeps as a pet. Kagura is placed in Kensuke's class and soon the two fall in love while struggling to Kensuke Kaguras page.

Publication

The chapters of the manga first appeared in October 2005 to January 2010 in the manga magazine Shōnen Ace Kadokawa Shoten in Japan of the publisher. Later, the series was published in twelve collected volumes. The volumes sold more than 70,000 times.

From September 2011 to January 2013 Tokyopop published a German translation of the manga in six double volumes as well as a special volume with further information about the series. Pika Édition brought out a French version, at the JBC manga was published in Portuguese.

Anime adaptation

Based on the manga studios AIC Spirits and Asread 2008 produced an anime television series called Ga - Rei Zero. She plays chronologically before the events in the manga and explains the background to Kagura and Yomi, which are indicated in the manga only briefly. For this reason, the manga main character Kensuke has a brief appearance only in the last episode, in order to connect directly to the manga restore. The film was directed by Ei Aoki, character design designed Osamu Horiuchi and the artistic director had Yoshimi Umino held. The first broadcast of the twelve episodes began on October 5, 2008 Chiba TV and TV Saitama, some days later, the broadcast began by the transmitter AT- X, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, Tokyo MX TV, TV Aichi, TV Hokkaido, TV Kanagawa and TVQ Kyushu. The last episode was shown on 21 December 2008. The anime was translated into English and Chinese.

The soundtrack of the series was composed by Noriyasu Agematsu. The preload is underlaid with the song Paradise Lost by Minori Chihara, the credits title Yume no Ashioto ga Kikoeru Mizuhara Kaoru. In two episodes, the song of the leader was also used for the closing credits.
