GÄ…bino

Gabino ( German Gambin ) is a village in the powiat Słupski the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Gabino is in Pomerania, about 16 kilometers northeast of Slupsk ( Stolp ), south of Lake Garder, to which the Wussekener bog adjacent, and 103 kilometers west of the regional capital Gdańsk ( Gdańsk). The village lies in a hollow.

History

In older times, the village belonged to a manor, which was located as a fief held by the Bandemer family since 1403. Around the year 1784 there were in Gambin three outworks, four farmers, half peasant, three Kossäten, a schoolmaster, on the field marks of the village a water mill and a further Kossäten and a total of 18 households. At that time, the estate was divided into two goods, Gambin A and B Gambin, both of which were owned by members of the Bandemer family. To Gambin A included two -thirds of the Gutsbezirks with two outworks, the water mill, two Buauern, half farmers and three Kossäten. To Gambin B geörte a third of Gutsbezirks with Vorwerk, two farmers and on the field mark of the village a Kossäten. 1925 were on the 1,971 acre community area 85 houses. 1939 were counted in Gambin 579 inhabitants living in 149 households.

Before the end of World War II Gambin was the seat of the administrative district Gambin in the district of Stolp, administrative region of Pomerania, Pomerania. To Gambin belonged next to the village itself four more Places:

Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was occupied on 8 March 1945 by the Red Army and made ​​soon thereafter under Polish administration. In the context of Polish expropriation measures the estate was converted into a state-owned enterprise, and the inhabitants were expelled.

144 expelled from Gambin villagers were later identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 249 in East Germany.

In 2008, Gabino had 380 inhabitants.
