Gabriel Barylli

Gabriel Barylli ( born May 31, 1957 in Vienna) is an Austrian writer, actor and director. He is the son of the violinist Walter Barylli ( born June 16, 1921), member of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic.

Life

The son of a Vienna Philharmonic and a singer studied acting and directing course at Vienna's Max Reinhardt Seminar in 1979 and engaged at the Vienna Burgtheater. This was followed by commitments at Berlin's Schiller Theater, at the Salzburg Festival and the Vienna Theater in der Josefstadt. 1980 Barylli debuted under the direction of Wolfgang luck as a film actor in the student Gerber on the novel by Frederick Torberg.

His first novel sandwich (1988 ) has sold over 200,000 times. Since its stage premiere in the same year played over 120 lifts the piece, including New York City and Rome.

In numerous TV movies, he was responsible for screenplay and directing. As an actor he has appeared in TV and cinema films with directors such as Xaver Schwarzenberger, Diethard Klantenlogin, Luc Bondy, Axel Corti and Regis Wargnier. He is also active in the theater as a director and actor.

2005, his comedy Ohio - Why? on their own in Munich its German premiere. Since 2008 he has been to see a dramatization of Thomas Mann's Buddenbrooks in the role of Thomas in Vienna Theater in der Josefstadt in John of Düffels. Beginning of 2009, the first for the revival of his play bread and butter in the Vienna Chamber games instead.

2011 was followed by another movie " Baked Beans " (Director, main role, writer).

2012 appeared the first part of the " Trilogy of Desire" - "Paradise" and the second part of " the beginning ". 2013 Barylli published the novel " A letter from a father to his son, " and the third part of the trilogy "truth."

Barylli is married to actress Sylvia Leifheit and lives in Vienna.
