Gabriel Davioud

Gabriel Jean Antoine Davioud [ ɡabʀiɛl ʒɑ ɑtwan davju ] ( born October 30, 1823 in Paris, † April 6, 1881 ) was a French architect.

Life

He attended the Paris Fine Arts École nationale supérieure des beaux -arts de Paris and won the second Prix de Rome.

As an architect, he built under Georges- Eugène Haussmann many buildings in Paris, initially the theater of Etampes and other theaters such as the Théâtre du Châtelet. Also known are erected by him Fountain Fontaine Saint- Michel Fontaine de l' Observatoire and. Participation he was also involved in the planning of buildings on the Avenue des Champs- Élysées and the Place de la République.

Since 1855 built Davioud behalf of the government roads and gardens such as the Square des Batignolles, he also embellished many places and the Bois de Boulogne.

In 1862 he was appointed Knight ( Chevalier ) of the Legion of Honor, 1878 then an officer ( officer ).
