2012 Presidential Election

In the presidential elections in Mexico in 2012 Quadri de la Torre resigned as an official candidate of his party to Nueva Alianzia ( PANAL ). Through his registration as a candidate the PANAL broke a collation with the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI ) and the Partido Verde Ecologista de México ( EMPA). After standing for some candidates of the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN ), nor an alliance for discussion, this idea was rejected by the later chosen as the official candidate Josefina Vázquez Mota. At the beginning of the election campaign Quadri only reached just 0.06% to in polls and has not been perceived by the media, who spoke to the televised debate on May 7, only three candidates. However, during the debate, he could convince his poll numbers shot up in part to about 10%. In the election on July 1, 2012 Quadri reached the fourth and thus last place among the registered candidates and about 1.13 million votes, or 2.3 %.
