Gabriel Romanus

Lars Gabriel Romanus ( born January 25, 1939 in Helsingborg) is a Swedish politician of the liberal Folkpartiet nutrition ( People's Party of Liberals ).

Romanus was Minister of Social Affairs from 1978 to 1979 and deputy in the Swedish Parliament from 1969 to 1982 and from 2002 to 2006. He was speaker of the Swedish delegation to the Nordic Council and the Swedish Children's Book Institute. President of the Nordic Council, he was in 2004. Minister of Social Affairs as he belonged to the government at the same time with his uncle, the Minister of Justice Sven Romanus.

Gabriel Romanus was CEO of Systembolagets 1982-1999. For a long years he worked towards a restrictive alcohol policy in Sweden.
