Gabriele Kühn

Gabriele Kuhn ( born March 11, 1957 in Dresden, before marriage: Gabriele Lohs ) is a former rower from the GDR. She won Olympic gold in 1976 in the foursomes with coxswain and 1980 in the eighth.

Gabriele Lohs began as Skullerin and in 1972 was Junior Champion of the GDR with the quadruple sculls. In 1975, she won at the Spartakiade and in the junior championships of the GDR. Before the 1976 season, she moved to the belt rowing, her coach Richard Wecke formed at SC Einheit Dresden a foursome with control women with Karin Metze, Bianka Swede, Gabriele Lohs, Andrea Kurth and tax Sabine Hess. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, the woman Rowing had its Olympic debut. The boats from the GDR won in the six boat classes four gold medals and two silver medals. The first decision was in the foursome with coxswain and here won the Dresdner boat the first Olympic gold medal in the women's rowing. 1977 were all five rowers from the gold in four DDR - eight, who won the third World Champion title in a row in Amsterdam.

1978 after her marriage Gabriele Kuhn sat as the only rower out of the boat world champion of 1977 in the GDR aft, the silver medal behind the boat won from the Soviet Union at the World Championships in New Zealand.
