Gabriele Reinsch

Gabriele Reinsch ( born September 23, 1963 in Cottbus ), married Kramer, is a former German track and field athlete and Olympian who competed for the German Democratic Republic and was successful in the discus.

On July 9, 1988 she managed the Athletics countries fighting DDR Italy in Neubrandenburg a world record of 76.80 m ( 76.80 m - 73.10 - invalid - 70,56 - 70.06 to 71.98 ), with the they improved the old record of Zdenka Silhava ( CSSR ) by 2.24 meters. This performance is still (as of August 2013) unmatched. ( The East German athlete Martina Hellmann indeed reached in an unofficial competition September 6, 1988 lengths of 76.92 m and 78.14 m, but these are not recognized as a world record).

Gabriele Reinsch began at the age of 14 years with the Athletics and tried first in the high jump and shot put ( second place in the Junior European Championships 1981). 1982 she moved all the way to the discus. In her world record, it improved by 9.62 meters - from 67.18 m ( personal best 1987) to 76,80 m.

Forces in international highlights

Gabriele Reinsch belonged until 1985 to the SC Cottbus, from 1986 the ASK Potsdam ( Coach: Lothar Hillebrand ). In her competition time, she was 1.84 m tall and 88 kg.
