Gaetano Gandolfi

Gaetano Gandolfi ( born August 30, 1734 Matteo della Decima, † June 30, 1802 in Bologna ) was an Italian painter and engraver of the Rococo.

Gaetano considered the most important member of the Bolognese engraver Gandolfi family. His style was influenced by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, whom he met during a stay in Venice. From 1780 to 1783, he returned to the ceiling fresco Rape of Proserpine, which is located in the salon of the Palazzo Fioresi - Cazoni in Genoa and reflects the Venetian rococo style.
