Gagel is a municipality in the district of Stendal Altmärkische height in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography
The village is north of the Altmark Gagel, a few kilometers southeast of the town Arendsee ( Altmark).
History
Until December 31, 2009 Gagel was an independent municipality and belonged to the now defunct administrative community Seehausen (Altmark ) on.
Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities have Boock ( 20 May 2009 ), Bretsch ( 30 June 2009 ), Gagel ( 12 January 2009 ), Heiligenfelde ( 21 January 2009 ), Kossebau ( June 16, 2009), Losse ( 23 January 2009 ) and Lückstedt ( 12 January 2009 ) decided that their communities dissolved and merged into a new community with the name Altmärkische height. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.
