Gainax

K. K. Gainax (Japanese株式会社 ガイナックス, Kabushiki - gaisha Gainakkusu ) is one of the world's most famous Japanese Anime production studio based in Mitaka, Tokyo Prefecture.

History and Structure

Studio Gainax was founded in 1981 by the students Hideaki Anno, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Takami Akai, and Shinji Higuchi under the name Daicon film and, in 1985, its present name, which gaina is a dialect term for " big ( like) ", especially from the east of the Shimane Prefecture Tottori Prefecture and west of the Umpaku spoken dialect.
