Gajdy

Gajdy ( German Goyden ) is a village in the Warmia - Mazury in northeastern Poland. The place belongs to Gmina Zalewo in powiat Iławski.

Geography

Gajdy lies in the moraine landscape of the Upper Lands, about four kilometers west of Zalewo. Through the village the Droga leads wojewódzka 519 The district is bordered on the south by a very wooded area ( the former State Forest Old Christburg ). The now nameless creek that drains the northern part of the district, was until 1945 the name of Copernicus ditch.

Gajdzkie Góra ( German Goydener mountains ): A survey ( ground moraine ) on the southern border of the district, whose highest point is 143 meters above sea level.

History

Goyden was founded by the Teutonic Order as a hook Interest village.

In 1874, the country was incorporated municipality Goyden Mark in the district of Morag in the official Prussian district. The boundaries of the community and the membership of this District remained unchanged until 1945.

After integration into the Polish state Goyden was initially renamed Gogowo and 1946 in Gajdy. The village was incorporated into the newly formed Gmina Zalewo He is now the seat of a Schulz Office of Gmina without other associated towns.
