Gaki Sherocho

Gaki Sherocho († 1919) was until the conquest of the Kingdom of Kaffa by the Ethiopians under Menelik II in 1897, the last king of Kaffa.

Gaki Sherocho came to power in 1890. He is said to have relatively strict rules his kingdom and cultivated more land than any of his ancestors. After 1896, Ethiopian forces invaded his kingdom he had to capitulate, bringing the empire came to an end after eight months of fighting on September 3, 1897.
