The Gallows Hill is located in the Heilbronner Bergen, a northwestern spur of the Löwenstein Mountains, and is located within its Südkuppe about 3.8 km east of the city of Heilbronn. Reserves

Slightly south-west of Gallows Hill Summit Nature Reserve reeds quarry is situated on the hunter, house with environment ( CDDA-Nr. 82520; 1972; 29 ha). History

On the northern tip of the Galgenberg are in Won guarantees two probably Bronze Age grave mound.

Like many other gallows was also the Heilbronner mountain of that name once the most visible high court of justice in the city. Here stood until 1811 a three-legged gallows, who was believed to be very large; its foundation walls have a thickness of 1.2 m and forming a triangle with an inner width of 7.5 m.

In 1893 were found during excavations in a vineyard just before the place of execution on a length of 30 m numerous horse skull. 1901 brought further excavations ten skeletons of man who hanged himself to the fore.

Weinberger tunnel
