Galindo Garcés

Galindo Garcés was a Count in the Spanish market in the early 9th century.

The origin of the Count Galindo Garcés remains obscure. He is only known from a document that documents a donation from him ( Galindo comes, filius Garsiani ) and his wife ( Guldreguth ) to the Abbey of San Pedro de Siresa. Deed is dated to a 25 November in the time ruler Emperor Louis the Pious ( 814-840 ). Whether he is to be equated with the already known from a previous deed ( 808-821 ) Domnus Galindo, gratia Dei commes, can not be determined beyond all doubt.

The two instruments in the first-ever mentioned Abbey of San Pedro de Siresa is located in the Valle de Hecho and belonged to the office area of the Counts of Aragón. Whether Galindo Garcés but officiated himself as Count of Aragon is not clear from her and therefore remains questionable, especially since he is not mentioned in the genealogical summary for Graf dynasty of Aragon in the Codex de Roda. From Antonio Ubieto Arteta his deed is were situates in the period 828-833, which the office of the Count Aznar I. Galíndez and his son- García Galíndez " evil " is roughly equivalent to. Due to this chronological proximity Galindo Garcés can hardly have been a son of García Galíndez. And also a possible common identity with Galindo I. Aznárez ( † after 867 ) - if one assumes the specified patronymic as error - remains speculative, since it had probably been too young for unauthorized actions of the supposed period.
