The Gallatin Range ( dt Gallatin Mountain Range ) is a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains, located about two thirds of the U.S. state of Montana and one third in the state of Wyoming. The mountain range covers an area of 4753 km ². The north - south extension measures a maximum of 134 km and the east- west extension of 79 km. The Electric Peak is 3343 meters, with the highest peak of the mountain range. Also at the Gallatin Range is one of Mount Washburn, the famous scenic mountain in Yellowstone National Park, and Mount Everts in the north of the park.
