Properties
Gallium ( III) selenide is a compact mass of black, finely crushed red solid, which is quite hard and brittle. It has a cubic crystal structure of zinc blende type with space group F43m. The compound crystallizes in two modifications. The α - form with zinc blende lattice which is stable at low temperatures and a high-temperature modification ( β ) with wurtzite structure. The conversion temperature is between 550 ° C and 600 ° C.
