Gallos de Aguascalientes

Gallos de Aguascalientes is a Mexican football club based in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes.

History

Was 1994, when the La Liga 'A ' is introduced, which replaced the Segunda División in its role as the second highest league in the Mexican club football, the owner of a Taquería chain in Los Angeles acquired the license to participate and put in Aguascalientes a team on the legs, because the city has never been represented by this time in professional football.

The newly formed Gallos (Spanish for taps ) completed the inaugural season of the Primera A in second to last place in the table and would have also secured for the coming season a place in the second division, because only the table last ( Caimanes de Tabasco ) the way in which had to play third league. But the Gallos sold their license to the Coyotes de Saltillo and retreated to the Segunda División now only third-rate.

After winning the second division championship in the summer of 1998, the Gallos returned to competition and not returned to the Primera A, and made equal in the Torneo Invierno 1998 ( first half of the season 1998 /99) attention to themselves, when they finished them as leaders. However, in the subsequent Liguilla they failed in the quarter- final against Chivas Tijuana (0:0 and 0:1). The same opponents also proved in the Torneo Verano Repechaje the subsequent 1999 ( second half of the season 1998 /99) as a stumbling block for the Gallos, who remained in this comparison (this time 0:0 and 0:3) without their own scoring.

After a disappointing 1999/00 season, in which they had completed both tournaments as a group Last, the Gallos their greatest success recorded in the Torneo Invierno 2000 at all and the title information obtained from a final victory over the Reboceros de La Piedad. After a 1-1 draw in front of their home crowd, the Gallos won the return leg 5-3 in a foreign land. After the Reboceros had won back the round-robin tournament of the season 2000/ 01, it was between two teams to the great season and career finals. After a 1-0 home win, the Gallos lost the return match with 1:4 and therefore had to continue to play in the second division. In the second half of the following season, 2001/ 02, the Gallos invaded once more before the semi-finals, where they this time with 0:2 and 2:3 were denied by the later promoted San Luis FC.

Before the next season 2002/03 in La Liga playing traditional club Necaxa moved to Aguascalientes, whereby the position of the second division Gallos has been significantly weakened. Therefore, the managers sold the license to the Club Deportivo Guadalajara, which thus his Branch team Tapatío enabled a starting spot in the second division.

Recently there have been efforts to let the Gallos start in a professional league again.
