Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter

The Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter is an accessory released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance by Nintendo. It allows to play together up to 5 players over a wireless connection. The module carries the model number AGB- 015 and can be used for the Nintendo GameCube with the Game Boy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, Game Boy Player. The range of the module is the manufacturer up to 3 meters. For the Game Boy Micro an extra wireless module is needed because it does not have the standard link port of the GBA family. Technically however, both are the same.

Compatible Game

Since the wireless adapter did not come until late in the life cycle of the Game Boy Advance to the market, there are few games that support it. Compatible games are marked with a icon labeled Wireless Adapter Compatible. In Mario Golf: Advance Tour and the multiplayer -enabled NES Classics missing this label, even if they are compatible. The wireless adapter is supported, among others, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

Matchmaking

If no games module inserted into the Game Boy, but the wireless adapter plugged in, the Game Boy start in a search mode. Find the module close to a game that is looking for players, it is displayed on the screen of the Game Boy. This system of wireless multiplayer Nintendo has later developed for the Nintendo DS.
