Zaurak (Arabic " boat ") is the name of the star γ (gamma ) Eridani. Zaurak has an apparent magnitude of 3.0 mag and belongs to the spectral class M0.5IIICa - ICR -.

Zaurak is about 203 light-years away from Earth ( Hipparcos database).

Others

After the star Zaurak the U.S. warship Hugh Young will continue in 1943 was renamed. The ship was decommissioned in 1946 and awarded in the Second World War with the Battle Star For Service.

The science fiction novel " The Power of One Zaurak (1983 ) " by Michael Szameit is one of the better-known examples of the genre in the former GDR.
