The Gamsberg is a mountain in eastern Switzerland with an altitude of 2'385 m above sea level. M. by the locals it is also called Gemsler. He is the highest point of the massif between Lake Walen and Toggenburg and thus also of the political community Grabs in the canton of St. Gallen.

The Gamsberg has a distinctive, 500 meters long, extending approximately horizontally summit ridge. Thus he acts from north and south considered bulky and wide. The flanks are steep, partly rugged and have little vegetation. This makes it appear rough, rugged and resistant. The long, horizontal summit ridge and the slope on all sides distinguish it from the mountains in the area.

Routes to the summit

It is rarely climbed. The normal route via a double track groove ( " railroad track " ) near the east ridge. Furthermore, there is a route through the northern flank, one through the southern flank, and two from the west to the summit. There's no marked trail to the Gamsberg and while climbing climbing is required on all routes.
