Gandra is a municipality and town in the district of the district Paredes Porto in Portugal. The name is derived from Gandara, which means an unproductive wasteland, grown in the predominantly wild plants.
History
On 20 June 1997, the municipality of Vila ( town ) was, on 26 August 2003 Cidade (City ) is given, even though it did not meet all the conditions for this, so that an exemption was created.
