Gaoqiao, Kai County

A large village Gaoqiao (Chinese高桥镇) is located in the district of Kai (开县) the Government Direct Chongqing city, about 337 km north-east of the city center.

In December 2003, in the city, a gas accident in which 243 people died of poisoning occurred. A similar incident occurred in March 2006. At that time, however, thousands of residents were taken to safety.
