Garabaghlar Mausoleum

The cultic center in Qarabağlar consists of a mausoleum and two minarets, of which only ruins remain. Situated on the edge of the village Qarabağlar in Nakhchivan and is the only residue of the former city Qarabağlar. The minarets were probably built in the 12th century, the style of the Mausoleum refers to the 14th century.

Mausoleum

The Mausoleum of Jahan Khatun Kudi forms the core of cultic center. The building consists of twelve interlinked semi-cylinders that rest on a lined with slabs of stone foundation. The facade is decorated with colored tiles that form a square grid pattern with sand-colored bricks, are mounted on the white inscriptions. The end of the façade forms a dark blue sheet thread. The cornice, the roof and the vault, which were located above have not been preserved.

The mausoleum has four gates, facing the four cardinal directions. The gates to the south, east and west are decorated with three-quarter columns and a Stalaktitgewölbe. Garlands are located at the tiled doorway in Kufic script. On the south - west gate and by, while plant ornaments, at the east gate instead geometric motifs. The north gate, in contrast to the other a deeper niche in the wall and partly gilded tiles. The walls are covered with stone slabs.

Minarets

Close to the Mausoleum there is a gate at the sides of each minaret was built. Both have elongated base and a trefoil - ceiling finish. The lower part of the minarets is decorated with turquoise glazed tiles, which are closed at the top by a wide strip of Arabic script. The spiral staircase of the southern minaret begins at the level of the ground floor. Behind the gate formerly joined to a building, from whose roof the spiral staircase of the northern minaret was accessible.
