Garding, Kirchspiel

Parish Garding is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

The church parish Garding is about 12 km west of Tonning on the eiderstedt peninsula and surrounds the city of Garding. Federal highway 202 and the railway line from Tonning to St. Peter -Ording pass through the town.

The district sand Wehle, which is named after an old dike breaking point, situated in the municipality. This Wehle was filled only after the Second World War, secured and released for development.

History

The church is from the parish Garding, ie the area from which the inhabitants have visited the church in Garding, emerged. As Garding in 1590 and received its charter, the city became autonomous and administratively separate from the rest of the parish.
