Garešnica

Garešnica is a city and an administrative community in Croatia.

Location

Garešnica lies in the region of Central Croatia at the foot of the mountain Moslavacka Gora, 17 km north-east of Kutina, on the important road link Kutina - Veliki Zdenci - Virovitica. The area is forested and allows walks and bike rides. Near Kaniska Iva and the rivers Ilova and Toplica a large artificial lake located (fish farming ). Garešnica is also famous for its wine.

History

Garešnica 1527 is mentioned for the first time. Worth seeing is the parish church of the Visitation, which was built in 1752 and is available in the lot from the original inventory.

Community

Administratively Garešnica part of Bjelovar -Bilogora ( kroat. Bjelovar - bilogorska županija ). According to the 2011 census, the municipality has 10,472 inhabitants, 84.72 % which are Croats. The following places belong to the community Garešnica:
