Garibaldi fish ( Hypsypops rubicundus )

The Garibaldi fish ( Hypsypops rubicundus ) is the largest species of damselfish (Pomacentridae ). He is the only species of the genus Hypsypops and in the USA is a conservation area. Its closest relative is the genus Parma from the southwest Pacific.

Dissemination

Garibaldi fish live in the cool waters of Tangwälder and rocky shores of the eastern Pacific from Monterey up to Lower California and Guadalupe Island in depths up to 30 meters.

Appearance

You are hochrückige, bright orange -colored animals. They are about 30 inches long. The young fish are not as high backs and are, blue speckled with bright red color.

Name

The Garibaldi fish is named after the Italian freedom fighter Garibaldi and his " Red Shirt " from 1850.
