Garip Island

Garip Adalari ( Greek: Αργινούσσες, Arginousses ) is the name of a small, belonging to Turkey archipelago in the Aegean Sea. It lies off the coast of Asia Minor east of the Greek island of Lesbos. The group consists of the islands Garip and Kalem as well as a much smaller third island west of Garip.

In ancient times, the islands as Arginusae ( ancient Greek Ἀργινούσσαι, Arginoussai ) were designated; at the Battle of the Arginusae (406 BC) of the Peloponnesian War, the Athenians defeated the fleet of the Spartans.
