Garmin-Cervélo (women)

Garmin - Cervélo was in the years 2004 to 2011, a professional cycling team in the women's cycling. Since 2005, it was with the Union Cycliste Internationale registered under different names as UCI Women 's Team - last with British license.

Organization

In 2007 the team under the name Raleigh Lifeforce Creation and previously as Univega Pro Cycling Team was known. With the establishment of men's teams Cervélo TestTeam in 2009 and the women's team took over this name.

After the merger of the men's teams with the U.S. ProTeam Garmin -Transitions to the Garmin-Cervélo team in 2011, the team changed the name again and has now managed by Slipstream Sports Inc..

As a result of difficulties of the team operator in financing the men's teams, the women's team was disbanded at the end of the 2011 season, and merged with the Dutch team AA Drink- leontien.nl, to which also the riders Emma Pooley, Elizabeth Armitstead, Lucy Martin, Sharon Laws Carla Ryan and Jessie Daams met. Here Slipstream Sports took over the management of the joint team. As a further consequence of this cooperation AA Drink- leontien.nl drove in 2012 with Cervélo bikes.
