Garopaba

Garopaba is a city (Portuguese município ) in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. It is located about 80 km south of Florianópolis on the Atlantic coast.

The colony was founded in 1666 by settlers from the Azores. On 19 December 1961 she was appointed to the city.

The city beaches are a paradise for surfers. One of the main employer is based in the city and was founded there as well Mormaii company that manufactures clothing for the surf needs ( eg suits made ​​of neoprene ) and this distributes worldwide.
