Gaertringen is a municipality in the district of Böblingen in Baden- Württemberg. The municipality is situated on the edge of the beautiful book between Böblingen and Herrenberg.

Geography

Geographical location

The community Gaertringen lies between hedges or Schlehengäu and nice book. To the south, a small plane which is formed by the springing in the neighboring district Nufringen Krebsbach, which opens into the Würm extends. Just south of Rohrau begins the vast forest area of the beautiful book. To the north and west the land rises uniformly to the Black Forest to go. The territory of the municipality Gaertringen is relatively poor in its own sources, so that there are few water-bearing constantly ditches and streams ( Krebsbach, wine ditch Brühl-/Hungergraben ) and the water supply is secured in part by water from Lake Constance.

Community structure

Gaertringen consists of the two districts Gaertringen and Rohrau. The official name of the district is Rohrau Gaertringen - Rohrau. The two districts form residential areas within the meaning of Baden-Württemberg municipal code. The district Rohrau also forms a town within the meaning of Baden-Württemberg municipal code with Ortschaftsrat and mayor (since 1994 Norbert sinner ). The hamlet Gaertringen include Gaertringen and the existing settlement of repatriates courts Waldhöfe and dialed localities ( desertions ) Edelburg, Hart House and Wislingen. Exclusively belongs to the district of the village Rohrau Rohrau.

New development areas

In the meantime largely populated residential area Kayertäle built on 27 hectares of a total of 800 residential units, 2,000 citizens should ever have their home here. It is planned in the next few years, the development of another 8 -hectare residential area in the northwest of Gaertringen ( Lammtal ). History

Oldest traces of settlement in the district come from the Hallstatt period. Old, possibly Roman, remains of settlements can be found at Hardt Heimer Brünnele. The place name " Gaertringen " is Alemannic origin which settlement is probably named after a Gart Heri. Gaertringen is first mentioned in documents in 1140. Originally the county of Calw, then the Count Palatine of Tübingen under standing, the community came to Württemberg in 1382.

Due to the proximity to industrial sites Böblingen, Sindelfingen and Stuttgart and the good transport links by rail from 1879 and the highway from the late 1970s Gaertringen was a popular place. Since the Second World War by the number of inhabitants has multiplied. This growth does not stop at last by the existing since 1992 S- Bahn connection to the present.

2500 meters north-west of Gätringen, on the western downhill edge of gardening Ringer valley, is the Postal Edelburg.

Religions

Gaertringen has traditionally been dominated mainly Protestant ( Evangelical parish offices Gaertringen East and West as well as Rohrau ), although the Catholic parish of St. Michael now has 2,600 members. The subsequent influx of citizens of foreign origin in recent decades, other religions are represented, this, however, no figures are available.

Rohrau

Many businesses from small workshops to large logistics center offer a variety of jobs in the village.

Traffic

Gaertringen can be reached via the federal highway 81 (Stuttgart - Singen). A special feature is that, coming from the south, there is the exit on the left lane. They came by was intended that the crossing structure during construction in the 1970s, the function of a motorway junction (A 81 / A 831 ), which provided for ramps, however, were used as a connection point.

Leisure

Over 50 clubs and organizations, and churches offer a variety of recreational opportunities and operate youth work. There are five gymnastics and sports halls, an indoor tennis court, an outdoor pool, a library, and the Villa Schwalbenhof, a cultural center with a cabaret in Gaertringen. Recreation opportunities exist in the directly following Schönbuch Nature Park and the Black Forest.

Medical care

The medical care is ensured by four general practitioners, a pain therapist, a gynecologist, two specialists in internal medicine, a pediatrician and five dentists.

Care

In the center is the home for the elderly Samaritan pen. There exist 72 nursing beds and 20 assisted elderly persons homes. There and on the town a diverse open senior citizens are offered with lunch, coffee table and various cultural events.
