Garuda Indonesia Flight 152 was a scheduled flight of the Indonesian national airline Garuda Indonesia from Jakarta to Medan, Sumatra, which crashed near Medan on 26 September 1997.

The Airbus A300B4 -220 with the registration PK- GAI crashed on final approach about 29 km before the destination airport in poor visibility in a wooded area off. All 234 people on board were killed in the accident.

The crash was in 1997, the aviation accident with most deaths and the heaviest in the Indonesian aviation.

Starting position

The accident
