Gary A. Myers

Gary Arthur Myers ( born August 16, 1937 in Toronto, Ohio ) is a former American politician. Between 1975 and 1979 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Gary Myers was born in Jefferson County, Ohio and grew up in Evans City (Pennsylvania). Between 1943 and 1951 he attended the local primary school; in 1955 he graduated from the Evans City High School. Then he studied until 1960 at the University of Cincinnati and to 1964 at the University of Pittsburgh. Subsequently, he worked in engineering and in the field of Industrial Engineering. He was a foreman in a steel mill. Between 1961 and 1968 he was also a member of the Reserve of the United States Air Force. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. In 1972, he ran unsuccessfully for Congress yet.

In the congressional elections of 1974, Myers was in the 25th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the three days earlier already resigned Democrats Frank M. Clark on January 3, 1975. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1979 two legislative sessions. In 1978 he gave up another candidacy.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Gary Myers worked in the steel industry. He also worked as a consultant on technical matters in the field of mechanical engineering works. His retirement he spends in Butler.
