Gary Halvorson

Gary Halvorson is an American director.

Life

He was trained as a pianist at the Juilliard School, but operated primarily as a director of sitcoms like Friends ( where he lived for 47 episodes Director ), Two and a Half Men and the Drew Carey Show. In addition, he led in 1999 for the children's film The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland Director. His career began with the director of a music program for Leonard Bernstein.

For the New York Metropolitan Opera he directed for the performance of The Magic Flute ( 30 December 2006), The Puritans (6 January 2007), The Triptych (28 April 2007) and Romeo and Juliet (15 December 2007), which was broadcast in HD. Gary Halvorson was nominated for a 1998 television film adaptation of Carmen and 2005 for Everybody Loves Raymond for an Emmy. In addition, he has won eleven Daytime Emmy Awards.
