Gaspare Landi

Gaspare Landi ( born January 6, 1756 in Piacenza, † February 24, 1830 ) was an Italian painter.

Landi was formed initially by the then prevailing tradition of mannerism to Rome, but then independently by the Venetians and Lombards of the 16th century.

He was initially director, since 1817 President of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome.

His main works are:

  • Tobias and Sara;
  • The Marys at the grave of Christ (Florence, Palazzo Pitti );
