Gašper Marguč ( born August 20, 1990 in Celje, SR Slovenia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian handball player. Marguč is 1,80 m tall and 74 kg in weight and is mostly used on outside right.

Career

Association

The left-hander began in his hometown at the Slovenian showpiece club RK Celje with the handball game. Since the 2009/10 season he joined the first team squad. With Celje he won the championship in 2010 and the Cup in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Prior to the 2013/14 season he had, as well as the entire team, suffered a loss of salary by 30%. His contract runs until the summer of 2015. March 16, 2014, the Hungarian giants KC Veszprém reported the transfer to the summer of 2014.

International winger reached the quarter- finals of the EHF Cup 2009 /10 and the semifinals in the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 2011/12. In the EHF Champions League 2012/13 he was one of 72 hits in the top ten scorers. Also in the EHF Champions League 2013/14 he is one of the best scorers of the competition.

National

In the U-20 European Championship in 2010 Gašper Marguč won the bronze medal with Slovenia and was charged with 49 hits together with Kentin Mahé scorer of the tournament.

For the Slovenian national team Marguč has played 38 international matches in which he scored 118 goals. He stood in the extended squad for the 2012 European Championship, but lost in his position the experienced Dragan Gajic and Matjaž Brumen to defer. At the World Championships in 2013, he was appointed to the final squad and reached the fourth place.
