Gate of Blaise

The Bläsitor was a gate of the city of Basel and once part of the Basel city wall. It was next to the Riehentor the second gate in Klein Basel and was named after the monastery of St. Blaise, whose managers had near his farm. It was demolished in the course of the Basel City Extension Act of 1859 in 1867.
