Gavin McCann (2008)

Gavin Peter McCann ( born January 10, 1978 in Blackpool ) is a former English footballer. He has also stood until 2011 at Bolton Wanderers under contract.

Career

The central midfielder began his career in the youth team of Everton FC. In 1995 he was brought into the first team of Everton. The left-footed moved to Sunderland in 1998, where he made the promotion to the Premier League in 1999. From the beginning of the season 2003/2004 played McCann at Aston Villa. During his time at Aston he often injured himself, so he later more frequently sat on the bench and decided to change.

For the season 2007/ 08 McCann moved to Bolton Wanderers, where he signed a five -year contract.

After the 2010/11 season McCann ended his active career also due to a long-lasting ankle injury. He continues his work at Bolton Wanderers continued as an assistant in the junior department.

McCann has played once in the English national football team, namely 2001 against Spain.
