Gavriil Baranovsky

Gavriil Vasilyevich Baranovsky (Russian Гавриил Васильевич Барановский ) * 25 Märzjul. / 6 April 1860greg. in Odessa; † 15 Junijul. / June 28 1920greg. in Komarowo was a Russian architect, civil engineer, art historian and publisher. He worked mainly for the family Jelissejew in St. Petersburg, but also in Moscow and created the city plan for Murmansk, then Romanov on Murman.

Education and early career

Born in Odessa, the son of the lawyer Vasili Ivanovits Baranowski and his wife Rosalia Malinovska Gavriil Baranovsky he received his education at the St. Petersburg Institute for civil engineers 1881 until 1886., He joined the education with an honorary silver medal. His career as an architect, he began in the period 1883 to 1885 as an assistant to Paul Susor ( Pavel Susor ). Architect of Jelissejew

Baranowski was the daughter of Grigory Eliseev, married in the St. Petersburg branch of the merchant family Jelissejew. His wife's family had owned several properties in Saint Petersburg. The house of Grigory Eliseev was the first building, the Baranowski from 1889-1890 as a senior architect designed and carried out.
