Gazimursky Zavod

Gasimurski Zavod (Russian Газимурский Завод ) is a village in the region of Transbaikalia (Russia) with 2657 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The place is in Gasimursenke said basin between the mountain ranges of southeastern Transbaikalia, about 500 kilometers south-east of the regional capital of Chita. Northwest rise about 1000 meters high foothills of the Borschtschowotschnygebirges, southeast of the Urjumkangebirge with the 1325 m high mountain Werschina Baidonki, northeast of the Gasimurgebirge begins with the 1372 m high Golez Uschmunski.

Gasimurski Zavod located on the right of this section two arms of the Gasimur, a left tributary of the Amur - Argun river source.

The town is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons Gasimurski Zavod. For administrative unit Dörfliche settlement Gasimurski Sawod also includes the surrounding villages Igdotscha, Jamkun, Korabl, Pavlovsk and Taina, each with a few hundred inhabitants.

History

On the basis of two 1773 discovered silver and Bleierzvorkommen the village and Taina on here from the right leading into the Gasimur Bach Ildikan a small smelter was built on the site of the present village since 1774 and put into operation in 1778. After being destroyed by high water, it was rebuilt and 1789/90 extended. To the work of a village was formed, which was designated as the work after the river as Gasimurski Zavod, literally Gasimur plant. Since 1779 the city was the administrative center for the surrounding settlements. Under its director Yegor Barbot de Marny (1743-1796) was even planned to transfer the management of the whole of southeast Transbaikalia comprehensive mining area of Nertschinski Sawod after here, since the local ore reserves were exhausted. Since the occurrence of Gasimurski Sawod did not meet the expectations, was taken from this plan again distance.

The work was still further enlarged in 1832 - 1834 there were 330 workers, including many exiles, but then closed in 1846. In the village there were 1837 141 houses, 1860 109 yards. From 1851 was in Gasimurski Sawod the staff of the 1st Infantry Brigade of the Trans-Baikal Cossack troops, and a field hospital was set up, which was open and the civilian population. From 1872 to 1918, the site of the 3rd Infantry Division was assigned.

On January 4, 1926, the village with the establishment of the same name Rajon became his administrative center.

1961, so far 13 agricultural collective farms of Rajons have been grouped into two state farms. The management of which one was located in Gasimurski Zavod.

In Gasimurski Zavod is the Historical and Museum of the Rajons Founded in 1962, there is a cultural center and a library.

Economy and infrastructure

Today Gasimurski Sawod is mainly agricultural and forestry center, besides, most of the utilities Rajons are located here.
