GCK Lions

The GCK Lions are a Swiss ice hockey club from Zurich, who is competing since 1993 in the National League B and acts as a farm team of the ZSC Lions. The club name GCK is of Grasshopper Club Zurich ( GCZ ) and SC Küsnacht ( SCK) derived their hockey departments merged in 2000 in a merger.

History

1932 came along with the Dolder ice rink in Zurich hockey team of Grasshopper, which was recorded in 1934 as the fifth section in the Grasshopper Club Zurich.

The GCZ belonged to 1945, 1946-1957 and 1963-1968 respectively of the National League A in. In between, you joined each in the National League B. In the 1965/66 season, the Swiss champions Grasshoppers, were also the greatest success story of the section.

In 1967, she rose again from the NLB. In 1971 they were relegated in the first athletic league. After an intermezzo 1982/1983 in the NLB they rose in 1984 for four years even in the 2nd League from. Since 1993, the GCK Lions have re-established in the NLB.
