GCompris

GCompris (French j'ai compris, German I understood ) is a free educational software for primary schools. The target group is children aged 2 to 10 years.

The suite GCompris is available in several languages ​​and platforms and is released under the GNU GPLv3 license. Originally the system for GNU / Linux has been developed. The Windows version provides a limited number of rich features. This limitation, however, can be offset by a fee-based activation.

GCompris offers more than 100 so-called activities in the following areas:

  • Keyboard, mouse, mouse movements
  • Counting, basic arithmetic, time
  • Arrange countries on a map, the water cycle, the submarine
  • Mind games, chess, memory
  • Reading exercises.
