Ge Fei (Badminton)

Ge Fei (Chinese葛菲, Pinyin Ge Fei, born October 9, 1975 in Nantong, Jiangsu) is a former Chinese badminton player.

Career

Ge Fei won five gold medals at the Asian Championships in badminton. 1994 in Shanghai, in Beijing in 1995, 1998 and 1999 in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur Ge won in doubles. In Beijing she won next even in the mixed tournament. At the 1995 World Championships in Lausanne occupied Ge Fei third place in the mixed doubles. At the World Championships in Glasgow in 1997 she became world champion in doubles and in mixed doubles. The doubles title was defended in 1999 Ge in Copenhagen, in the mixed doubles she won the bronze medal.

At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta Ge Fei won with Gu jun doubles gold medal. In the final they defeated Gil Young- ah and Jang Hye- ock from South Korea with 15:5 and 15:5. In Sydney, at the Summer Olympic Games in 2000, took part in the Ge Fei doubles and mixed tournament. Together with Gu Jun defended the double gold in 1996. Mixed In tournament it failed with Liu Yong in the Round of 16

Ge Fei was trained by Tang Xuehua.
